Feeling Stretched Thin? This Simple Practice Could Change Everything
Because rest isn’t lazy — it’s your secret weapon for thriving.
This week has been intense — and I know I’m not alone. Last night’s Full Moon brought all kinds of energy shifts, stirring emotions, restlessness, and that unmistakable feeling of being stretched thin. For those of us who are energetically sensitive, even the smallest uptick in cosmic vibes can feel like a tidal wave. Maybe you’ve felt it too — the sleepless nights, the extra emotions, or the sense that everything feels just a little… heavier.
Our bodies are made up of a large percentage of water. While we’re not literally sloshing like ocean waves, many of us definitely feel the ripple effects of the Moon’s influence on the Earth. We’re all cosmically connected — our ancestors understood this deeply, and more of us are waking up to this awareness.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the flow of energy within us — and how we might work with it. Could getting what we want — more peace, joy, clarity — be as simple as tuning our energy, like turning a dial or changing a channel?
I truly believe it can be that simple. Joy, love, excitement, gratitude — these are all frequencies. Our bodies naturally know how to tune into them, but it takes intention, awareness, and a willingness to let go of the static. That static might be old fears, unhelpful thoughts, or habits that no longer serve us.
Our energetic bodies are always communicating with us. When we’re uncertain about what we feel or why, it’s easy to get overwhelmed or stuck in fear. That survival part of us—the protective bodyguard—sometimes blocks our intuition’s gentle nudges forward. The key is learning to recognize the difference:
Your higher self (intuition) feels like expansion, ease, clarity, or calm.
Fear feels like tightness, looping thoughts, urgency, or shutdown.
The more you tune into your breath, your body, and your energy, the easier it becomes to notice and release the static.
Full Moon nights are a powerful time for tuning in and getting intentional. And, this heightened energy will be with us for a couple more days. It’s a chance to check in with what actually brings you joy — not what you’ve been told should bring you joy, not what social media or family says, but what lights you up deep inside. It’s a time to release old patterns and consciously choose your thoughts, energy, and daily actions.
Lately, I’ve leaned heavily on a few tools that help me recalibrate, my favorite this week has been Yoga Nidra. A good friend of mine who’s a physician just mentioned to me yesterday how incredibly helpful it has been for her. In fact, so much so that she recommends it to her patients. It’s especially helpful on weeks like this when the moon energy is surging and life can feel exhausting.
Yoga Nidra naps, even just 10 minutes, feel like a reset button for my nervous system.
If you’re not familiar, Yoga Nidra isn’t about striking yoga poses. It’s a guided meditation that leads your body into a deep state of rest while your mind remains aware. Imagine lying down, breathing, and drifting into a calm, restorative space where your nervous system finally gets a break.
Alongside Yoga Nidra, these are the other practices I return to again and again when my energy feels heavy or scattered:
Breathwork: Your breath is your built-in energy regulator. A few minutes of deep, intentional breathing can clear emotional static and bring you back into your power.
Meditation: Simple mindfulness or focused meditation practices help calm the mind, reduce overwhelm, and bring you back to center. Just a few minutes can shift your entire energy.
Tapping (EFT): Using your body’s energy meridians to release stress and emotional blocks, tapping signals safety to your nervous system and creates space for calm and clarity. I recently wrote about how tapping helped me during a tennis match and how it can be a game-changer in everyday life. Read more here.
If you’re feeling off — fatigued, restless, emotional, or just out of sync — you’re not alone and certainly not broken. You’re upgrading. Our bodies are adjusting to faster, higher frequencies — a natural evolution that our ancestors understood and worked with consciously.
So, I encourage you to find time for just one 10-minute Yoga Nidra session this week or any of the other tools I mentioned. Lie down, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and let yourself rest.

This week, give yourself permission to rest, release, and realign. The moon’s energy is still with us — use it to let go of what you no longer need and tune to the frequency you truly want.
….. until next time many many sweet blessings.
Love + Wellness to You!
